When it goes wrong

We get it, stuff breaks or does not work as it should.

Password does not work.

Nothing is worse than trying to log in and it does not work.

Not being able to log in can happen because of a few reasons.

  1. Wrong Password.
  2. The wrong home server; it must be a matrix.m8chat.au

What to do?

  1. Request a new password

I can log into M8Chat but NOT into the chat (element app or chat.m8chat.au)

  1. Login to M8Chat
  2. Reset Password

Element Desktop

Same as with the Element X, but now for your desktop, this is a complete end-to-end encryption and security solution for your desktop communications.

Instead of using the web (Element Web), we recommend you install this desktop application to use on your laptop or desktop computer.

JITSI

Jitsi is another open-source application we use; when you are on a mobile device, you can be prompted to install an application.

You do NOT have to install any application; we recommend using the browser instead. Because we remove any references to the meetings on our conference server, there is no need to install an application.

Of course,e you are free to do so should you want to.

Community Focused & Open Source

We believe in transparency and community power. That’s why M8chat is open source – anyone can contribute to making it better. Plus, our Aussie-built platform is designed with the unique needs of our mates down under in mind. Think local support, relatable features, and a community that understands your lingo.

Partners we Trust

To wrap it up

We explained to you what applications we use, and we also made you aware that we use open-source applications only. It allows us to validate the code, and there is a large community behind it to keep the code up-to-date and running.
