Element X is available for all major mobile devices. This mobile application is provided by Element.io; they build it, maintain it, and we can use it.
We recommend you install this application on your mobile device, and you can find it in the “App Store”, on “Google Play” as well on “F-droid”.
This application gives you all the functionality you need to use M8Chat; if you want complete end-to-end encryption and security, you must install the app on your device.
Jitsi is another open-source application we use; when you are on a mobile device, you can be prompted to install an application.
You do NOT have to install any application; we recommend using the browser instead. Because we remove any references to the meetings on our conference server, there is no need to install an application.
Of course,e you are free to do so should you want to.
We believe in transparency and community power. That’s why M8chat is open source – anyone can contribute to making it better. Plus, our Aussie-built platform is designed with the unique needs of our mates down under in mind. Think local support, relatable features, and a community that understands your lingo.
We explained to you what applications we use, and we also made you aware that we use open-source applications only. It allows us to validate the code, and there is a large community behind it to keep the code up-to-date and running.
